FAQs

Questions about the services

Which planning documents will I actually need?

It depends on the application, but most development sites with trees need a BS5837 tree survey and schedule, a Tree Constraints Plan, an Arboricultural Impact Assessment and — where trees are retained near the works — a Tree Protection Plan and Arboricultural Method Statement. I'll confirm exactly what's required for your site.

Can you liaise with the council's tree officer for me?

Yes. I regularly deal with local authority tree officers and can handle the arboricultural side of your application, respond to queries and help discharge tree-related planning conditions.

Do you work for homeowners as well as developers?

Absolutely — from a single extension or homebuyer report to larger developments, estates and commercial sites. The same independent, plain-English approach applies whatever the scale.

Are you insured?

Yes, ArbLogic SW carries professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Details are available on request.

What happens if works have already started or trees have been damaged?

Get in touch as soon as you can. I can assess the current situation, advise on the best way forward and, where needed, produce a report to support retrospective applications or resolve a dispute.
